Popular, popular, popular.
If you're looking for something hip and pretty well hidden, the Lazy Bird is awesome. This spot is incredibly popular, and very quickly gets incredibly packed. I had to make a second trip because the first time I attempted to get in there was a line out the door, despite it's location.
The Lazy Bird is hidden deep under The Hoxton, a hotel. You enter the main door of the hotel, walk around to the right, past the elevators on the left, and into the stairwell - then head down. You'll follow a few tiny signs to get to the right place.
Even on a Thursday, shortly after they opened, I only managed to barely get a table. Their drink menu is vast, and very colorful. I was able to find many things I hadn't tried before anywhere else, and the waitress we got was very nice. :)
It's well-hidden location definitely qualifies this as a speakeasy, but the vibe is more clubby and the music is upbeat.
One of my friends was especially impressed that I knew where to find this one, so if you're looking to show your friends you know your way about the town, take them here.
It's in west loop, so there are plenty of other spots only a few blocks away - making this a great stop on a bar crawl night.
I highly recommend it.
