Books, vibes, and wine.
The image above does not do this spot justice. It's absolutely immaculate. Soft, old-timey music, melting candle lighting, and sexy 80s dark academia library vibes.
You ask to be seated down in "The Library" at the front of Gilt Bar, and you walk down the stairs, through a dramatic hallway with black and white photos (you can add your own too), and to the right behind a tiny, unassuming door you’ll find yourself there.
Paintings all over the sleek red walls - it made me want to get a big glass of rosé - and I did. It was obviously excellent.
This might be my favorite place I’ve found so far. Being there makes you want to be a detective, or a writer, or both. It’s got real “the mysterious dame in the red dress” energy.
All the employees gossip and seem like good friends - it made me smile. :) The bar is excellent, but the place does still seem to revolve around the food a bit more than typical bars - and while I didn’t try any, everyone around me was in awe of their dish.
I'll be back plenty more times, and I'll bring friends. It's definitely not advertised by the restaurant above, so to be quite frank, you're a cool kid now that you know about it.
