108 W Kinzie St
Small, cozy, and casual.
This spot is super cute - and very unintimidating. They play fun Spanish pop music, and the lights aren't too low.
You can find it by walking downstairs from the Mercadito, after asking, of course.
I expected lots of tequila, which isn’t my thing, but I got something called a Pepino el pyu and it was DELICIOUS. It’s the only cocktail I’ve ordered that tasted like cucumber, and I loved it.
You would think cucumber is too soft a taste to work in alcohol but you would be WRONG. Plus, I like the nod to pepe the skunk, so that’s what initially drew my eye.
A very nice place - and they've got a few super nice small table options if you come with a group.
It seems like a more relaxed whatever-kind-of-spot place than a traditional darker bar - but in a really good way! I felt totally relaxed while I was there, and the bartender was incredibly nice.
I had a great time - and as always, I highly recommend it. :)
