All the Speakeasies in Wicker Park

Wicker Park has some of the best thrift stores and restaurants in the city. The neighborhood and it's community are known for being especially hipster, so there's always something funky and fun to get into there.

And with that vibe comes speakeasies - some of the most well known speakeasies in the city are here, but there are only 3 honest-to-god real ones we've found so far.

Dorian's

The first is Dorian's, and we're a massive fan of this spot. It's hidden behind a fake record shop - you walk inside, and ask for a seat instead of a music selection.

When you actually step from the faux front area to the back, it's a magical moment. Inside, it's dark, moody, and of course musically themed.

They decorated super well, it's inviting and dramatic at the same time, and there's a small stage where small indie bands play often.

If you're looking for live music, this spot was designed for it - the cocktails are excellent as well.

The Violet Hour

Next is The Violet Hour - one of most well known speakeasies in the city, and for good reason.

They take their dark velvet aesthetic seriously - there are big curtains of it in every room, and the mood lighting is perfect.

Their drinks are fabulous, the bartenders are always friendly, and the entrance is a hoot.

There's a tiny red light hanging over a practically invisible door covered by a mural and posters on the street. Pull it open, and you're in.

Show up early, otherwise it gets packed real quick.

Bordel

Finally, we've got Bordel. It leans into a red-light district theme, and does it well.

Flaming cocktails, DJs, burlesque shows, and more - it's certainly strong on entertainment.

It's hidden above Little Victories up a long staircase behind an unmarked door, so they nailed the speakeasy-style entrance too.

A tip top spot, without a doubt.

Despite there only being 3 locations (that we've found thus far) each one would comfortably land towards the top of a city-wide ranked list.

Wicker Park seems to be all hits, no misses. Given how funky the neighborhood is, we're sure there are a few more hiding, so if you find any, send us a note!
